Google today announced embeddable previews for all books included in Google's Book Search. Developers can now make use of a set of APIs to embed these previews into any site. Google has already signed up a large number of bookstores, libraries, and social book sites for this new service. Amazon, of course, has included book previews on its own site since 2003, but thanks to this new feature of Google Books, any vendor can now add book previews to their sites for free.

Mit dem heute vorgestellten G1 von T-Mobile erblickt nun endlich das erste Smartphone auf Basis von Googles Android Plattform das Licht der Welt bzw. den ausgewählten Testern. Der breite Massenmarkt hat dann im Oktober die Möglichkeit, sich mit dem gegen das iPhone aufgestellten Handheld zu beschäftigen:

This week we reported that Cognition had announced "the largest commercially available Semantic Map of the English language." … Cognition CEO Scott Janus … told us that semantic search companies "must include a comprehensive semantic map" to be successful. Is this true? We sought a response from both Hakia and Microsoft-owned Powerset on this semantically charged question.
