For many, MySpace’s profiles have always been a mess: unevenly aligned elements, ugly colors, music and videos playing everywhere (often simultaneously) are to be expected when you click on someone’s profile. On the other hand, one can argue that this is exactly what users want, hence MySpace’s humongous popularity. Things change, however, and today MySpace is introducing Profile 2.0. Innovative search startup Lijit has done study of search widgets on pages around the web and says its widget is very close to becoming as popular as Google's own "site search". We think Lijit is quite interesting and we're not surprised to find out that many other bloggers around the web agree.

IBM is about to commit itself heavily to browser-based applications. The giant IT company is quietly working on a project called Blue Spruce, which aims to create a fully browser-based application development platform.
