Der Online-Einzelhändler Amazon.com hat durch ein Rekord-Weihnachtsgeschäft trotz der Konjunkturkrise einen kräftigen Gewinnsprung erzielt. Der Überschuss des US-Konzerns stieg im Schlussquartal 2008 um fast 9 Prozent auf 225 Millionen Dollar (171 Millionen Euro). Der Umsatz kletterte auch dank des internationalen Erfolgs um 18 Prozent auf 6,7 Milliarden Dollar, wie Amazon mitteilt.

As a concept, OpenID has shown a great deal of potential. Now, Google and Plaxo have responded with a new workflow for OpenID logins that simplifies the process and improves the usability – by adding OAuth and the Google Contacts API to the mix.
